Juggling a business and parenthood last year.

Here is a little bit about me for International Women’s Day….

I am SJ Barker, a Mum of 2 (6 years and 8 years) who runs Ryedale Mumbler and Scarborough & Whitby Mumbler. These both comprise of websites and social media communities providing vital information and support for local parents. For businesses, it provides the perfect platform to reach the families of the local area.

Over the last 12 months, like everyone else, we have experienced turmoil! My home was no longer a home and a place for me to work from, but a school as well. I juggled home schooling, work and a life of lockdown. Mumbler became a place for parents to go for inspiration for home schooling and general child entertainment.

It was down to me to create this content!

This had to be done outside school hours as the children shared my devices and required my attention, so many evenings I was writing blogs until well into the night.

I succeeded and the website traffic for both Ryedale Mumbler and Scarborough & Whitby Mumbler is as good as ever. I have received some great feedback, reviews and messages of thanks from local mums which has meant so much. 2020 has been a tough one on all levels but I hope going forward, I can build on this as the businesses wishing to advertise open up and hopefully get back to normal.
